In pursuing the mission CSWCT launched a one year tree planting campaign for 2010 under the theme “plant a tree and give it a name” in this tree planting festival, over one million trees were planted in selected areas including; Hoima Town council. The intention of this exercise was to restore degraded forests in Uganda as a way of protecting the habitats for chimpanzees which are currently threatened to extinction and yet they fetch a lot of revenue to country through tourism.

This tree planting festival saw people from all walks of life plant trees and naming and promising to protect them. On 24 April 2010, the Omukama of Bunyoro planted a tree in his palace and named it “Bbona Babyare” meaning; tree planting for all.
